New Furniture in Vanessa’s Workshop

Vanessa is changing — and her workshop is transforming as well. New white shelves have appeared here, making the space feel cozier and more comfortable.

I had long dreamed of wooden miniature furniture for the doll workshop. I even bought an electric jigsaw to work with plywood. But my first attempts didn’t succeed, and the tool stayed in its box for several years.
This year I decided to give my dream a second chance: I sold the electric jigsaw, bought a hand one and a few sheets of plywood — and, to my delight, this time it worked! I made my very first shelves by hand. Until now, I had only created furniture from cardboard, so this was a completely new experience for me.

After a few days of work, it was finally time to start painting the furniture. Vanessa, of course, helped 🙂

A toothpaste cap turned into a tiny bucket of white paint, and a toothpick became a brush. Such a simple, magical moment — and the furniture came to life under her skillful hands.

I truly love when everything in the frame looks as realistic as possible. I tried my best to make the furniture that way.

On the shelves, Vanessa is already arranging fabrics and materials. There’s even a spot for a tiny sewing machine — I sculpted it from polymer clay.

And on the corner shelf, little books and pencils have found their place. Vanessa enjoys leafing through books in the workshop, finding inspiration in the costumes of fairy-tale characters.

I’m planning to add a few more details to the miniature workshop — and perhaps build more furniture. I really enjoyed the process: now I don’t just sew and sculpt with polymer clay, I also cut plywood with a jigsaw.
